Got a Minifish

Sunfish's little brother.

Hull in great shape, just a few scratches. Sail looks to be original and useful, just a few pinholes near the luff seam and some minor stains.

Wood OEM dagger-board and rudder in good shape but could use sanding and refinish for appearance.

I already replaced all of the lines as they were short and very worn/degraded.

I've added a couple of spring cleats just behind the dagger-board since the Mini didn't have the cleat with a pulley on a swivel like the Sunfish. It just has a hook.

I have ideas for a couple more changes including installing an inspection port so I can put in a better backing plate for the spring cleats. (Only caught one screw of each cleat into the OEM backing plate center front of the cockpit, which will cause problems later if not corrected)

I sailed Sunfish quite a bit, long ago.
I took the Mini out just after buying it and putting in the cleats and it all came back. Tons of fun. Pain in the neck to solo load and unload from the pickup though...

I bought a Harbor freight trailer and am modifying that this winter for the little sailboat.

fhhuber, very nice! I also recently bought a Minifish, but for my boys to sail on.... so I have never sailed it myself. I'm probably a bit heavy for it anyway... but my boys seem to love it.
Pirate & Scooter - it looks pretty much just like a Sunfish... just a mini version!

here's a great pic I got of my 2nd son sailing the Mini near me when I was sailing my Sunfish.

The hull is just a couple of feet short of a Sunfish.

The sail is considerably smaller, but they had the option to use the normal Sunfish sail and mast set.

Someone was selling the even more rare "Minifish II" a couple of months ago. I really wish I had gotten it, but I snagged the pictures.
