Has anyone else had this problem and whats the best way to solve apart from replacing everything?
Electrolysis taking place upon Laser 1 spars?

Happens a lot.
Remedy-
1. remove end caps+ other hardware from the spars, and flip the spars end-for-end, so you drill fresh holes into solid fresh metal, uncompromised by corrosion.
2. re-install caps+hardware, using Lanocote or something similar as you put the rivets/bolts in.

...and don't forget to fill any redundant holes in the topmast with rivets or whatever so that it doesn't fill up when you capsize.
Use only one rivet to hold the topmast collar if your current one has two.
Difficult to do with the boom as you have to move the reinforcing sleeve.

Good point.
You can also get a new reinforcing sleeve kit and install that, instead of trying to remove/move the existing one.
I put one into an old boat ... IIRC it was like $35 from APS.
