A Pile of Potentially Pickable Sunfish in Biloxi

During the course of my work-related travels this week, I happened to be on Hwy 90 (The Beach Road) in Biloxi Mississippi. As I drove along, I noticed a whole pile of apparently un-loved Sunfish that could possibly be purchased for low prices. I would have taken a picture but I didn't have my camera with me, and it was too dark for my cell phone cam.

There are maybe five or six boats, more or less randomly stacked up into a pile, along with several also unloved catamarans and other small racing boats. They are located on a lot next to the Biloxi Yacht Club on Hwy 90. My guess is that they are either members boats that have been abandoned, or they are old club boats that are no longer in service. As such, they may be purchaseable for low prices..... but I don't know for sure. I didn't have time to go into the club to ask. If you are interested, you can Google the club and call them.

One note though: next week is Cruisin The Coast..... and there will be thousands of Hot Rods, and Vintage Cars in that city..... so it might not be the best time for boat shopping there.

There also appears to be a few un-used Sunfish at the Pass Christian Yacht Club a few miles down the road. They were in better condition though, and might have just been in storage.

So.... that's my scouting tip for the day. If you go there and buy a boat, let me know.

Hi BH,
Thanks for the tip, I called and left a message last Sunday, no call back yet. Do you have any contacts at BYC?

Thanks,
Kent

Kent.... no, I don't have a reliable contact there. I sent a message via the GYA, but have not yet heard back. I DID however go by there on Saturday. The boats are still piled up, waiting to be fixed up..... but nobody inside at the time could tell me anything other than yes they are semi-abandoned. If I hear more, I'll let you know.
