Does anybody have any experience with this buoyancy aid?

I was looking for a new buoyancy aid that was tight on the body and relatively high up on the chest, for less interference with the boom, and to allow plenty of room for a trap hook on a harness.
I currently have the old gill buoyancy aid and was wondering if you thought the rooster was better.

I've been using a Rooster buoyancy aid for the last 3 years. I cannot compare it to the Gill, as I haven't tried one of those, but the Rooster one has done the job for me and still looks like new.

Does "buoyancy aid" mean it's not considered a PFD/life jacket? And presumably not Coast Guard approved in the US?

Gill makes a USCG approved version now, it costs a fortune to get a vest USCG approved so it's not necessarily the specs of the vest, my buoyancy aid works better than the USCG approved vests we had on our motorboat

Zhik makes a nice BA as well, I got my mom one because she was having the same problem getting stuck under the boom
