Trailer rollers

On the Water
My trailer has black rubber rollers that tend to leave marks on the hull. Is there a way to clean them, or should I replace them?

Replace them with white rollers! :p

...but...

My neighbor developed a leak in his "Flats" boat which was directly traced to a roller.

One roller should be enough to load a Sunfish, and even then, I'd lower it so it doesn't contact the hull while in transit.

As far as we know your best bet is replacement :(.. had the same trouble with skid marks.
While we were able to painstakingly remove the marks each time, we were unable to stop them from coming back until they were replaced.
Best of luck!

Replace them, and I second the comment on not using the as the primary means of support, they can wear a soft spot into the keel.

I was thinking replacement would be the way to go. The bow roller is the worst culprit.

The rollers do not support the boat. My trailer is set up so the bunks are directly beneath the cockpit.
