Laser in 5.75' pickup bed

Can I transport a laser in a 5.75' pickup bed... maybe with a hitch truck "bed extender"? Any advice on the best way to do this if so? Was hoping to roll the dolly onto it maybe bow first to make it a one man show... but not sure if there is enough support.

So bed length, plus tail gate height, plus extender.. Would be nice to hear if someone has done this (or tried and failed) before prior to "experimentation". I saw a couple threads but nothing too specific. Note, I also want to transport the dolly/spars.

it will work, put the boat upside down transom towards the cab, strap the boat down, then flip the dolly and put it on top, make sure you strap the boat well especially with the smaller bed

And if it sticks off a good bit tie a red flag or something to the bow eye so that if someone runs into it they can't say it wasn't marked.

Thanks, good ideas.

Do you think it would be possible to setup the truck bed almost like a kitty hawk trailer support system. So at the front of the bed, you could have a custom welded piece that fits under the gunnel of the bow... then off the bed extender that goes out of the trailer hitch, have it wide enough with vertical supports and gunnel pads there... then you could wheel the boat onto the truck onto the supports via the dolly, lift the boat up off the dolly a couple inches onto the supports, then tie it all down...?

probably, I can imagine a bolt on solution, are you looking for something so you can sail singlehanded?

If you are trying get a new boat home, or maybe take it somewhere once a year, then putting it in the pickup bed may be a good solution. However if you plan to transport the boat often, I would put your effort into something more practical.

Here's mine. Built a cradle for it to sit on in the truck. Bed extender is built out of 2" square tubing. Hauled it this way for roughly 200km so far & no issues.
