Bought my first boat :)

I am now the proud owner of Sunfish #33117 - a 1966 boat. Bought it for only $325. Needs a little work but I am already in the process of refinishing the dagger board and rudder. The rudder mount was jury-rigged out of welded aluminum but it works.

Congrats on your new boat. I hope you have better winds than I do when you take her out for a sail. I have had mine out 3 times now and the darned wind is so finicky, I just have bobbed around like a cork except for the few little zephyrs that provided a small bit of fun. I just finished a PVC cart and was able to try it out today. It works fantastic! So easy to pull the boat almost anywhere that I sail now from the parking areas. Fair winds!!

Wind is rarely an issue here in New England. The boat's final destination will be central Maine.I hope to have it ready and done in a week.

Need a little fiberglass work but nothing substantial. The rudder and dagger board are done. Eventually the boat will need paint it wasn't done right the last time. I am having a tough time finding springs for the rudder though I was hoping something at home depot would work but no luck.

I would have to see the size I have no clue if these are original since a previous owner made his own rudder bracket.
