Outboard

I just came across a deal on a new Honda 2 HP Honda. Problem, it only has a 15" shaft and I'm 2 hours away from my boat to take measurements. Does anyone know the transom height from the water line? I have a motor mount on the boat, it came with the boat, so I believe I cut about an inch off the height. I wasn't planing to buy a motor until I came across this deal. Thanks in advance.

Transom Dimension

Center of transom measures 19" from bottom to top of deck.
My top mount hole is 2-3/4" below top of deck,
bottom mount hole is 6" below top of deck.

Not sure about the water line measurement.
No stain present, as the boat lives on a trailer.

I removed my mount and forget: the supporting plywood
panel is offset. Does it stick UP from the bracket, or down?
It's even with the bracket one way, and sticks up 3" the other.

I did a bit of modification to my motor mount to make it work with my short shaft outboard. The problem that you may encounter, which I am still troubleshooting, is that the motor may not fold up out of the water as freely as a long shaft would with a higher mounting point; it may hit the top of the transom if when you fold it up. I would get the motor, it's fun to putt around in and out of the harbor.

Thanks. I'm torn on the idea. My thinking is that I will buy it and build a crate to stow it in the bow and only pull it out when I need a push. I think I can cut down the mount and not have to worry about tilting the motor.
