I finally did it - bought a new boat.

It's been more than 1 year since I sold my Capri 14.2. I LOVED that boat, and sold it for a song (hoping the buyer wound up here)... If so, GOOD luck Steve!

Anyway, I just purchased last week, a 1989 Capri 22 wing keel standard rig. The capri22.net guys are REAL nice, and extremely helpful. I'll stop buy here from time to time, to check up on you...

But in the meantime here is my new boat.

I also have a boat slip reserved for me for the balance of the season, and it is killing me that this boat is NOT in the water yet... Painted the bottom and verifying everything is on her, but hoping for Thursday for getting her in.

I like your Capri 22, the cabin looks smaller with a bigger cockpit then my 1984 Catalina 22.

I kept both, but I use my Capri 14.2 a lot more than my 22. I have towed my Capri 14.2 behind my Catalina 22. It's great on raceday, I tow my 14.2 into the lake(I don't have to sail out of the marina or ask for a tow). I drop anchor on the 22 and race the 14.2. I keep all the extra gear on the big boat and can tie off between races and relax.

Fan, love ya guy... You guys are a cool wealth of info! Great bunch..

Oh Just got word that my sister bought a HUNTER 170! Oh my god, that Means:
Brother owns a Newport 17
Sister owns a Hunter 170
and I upgraded to a Capri 22.

Sounds like a family day sailing!

Now I just need to get the veteran sailor (Dad who is now pushing 75) to come out with me! Man swears he wants a burial at sea. We should curse him for this sailing disease he gave us all!

Dad had a bout with Cancer 10 years back, and he's doing great now, but isn't as strong as he once was. IN his life he's owned:
A sunflower (who hasn't)
An oday Daysailor 17
A Montego 19
A US Yacht (Bayliner/Buccaneer/Triton) 27
and A Kells Coaster 23.
and in that order.

He's chartered, a 34 Oday Chesapeake, a 40 Morgan Chessie, and an out island 41 in the BVIs. A capri 14 or 25 on SD bay too.

Cool story. Thank goodness boats are so inEXPENSIVE to own. If you ever get to San Diego, let me know and we'll go out for a sail.

I'm gonna miss you folks, but I'll be checking in on you JUST to make sure you guys aren't scuttling the newbies.

Fair winds.
