Mast setup

I just bought an OMega 14 #495 from an older gentleman who lost some parts etc. But he tells me the mast sits on top of 2 pins. Attached are pics of the mast bottom and footing(?). Is this correct or is something missing? Sorry- I am just a novice but looking forward to learning. By the way I am in Salem Oregon

The thingamabob connects to the doodad.

yes there are two pins. The pictures will help. But the thingamabob on the bottom of the mast hooks into the first pin so you can get a firm pivot point when you start walking the mast up from the stern of the boat. Then the mast sits upright on those two pins. My omega is #512 and it was restored by a someone who does that for a hobby and looks new now. I love it. Do you know what year yours was built? Hope this helps. Ask more if I can help in any way I will.

PS there is no scale to the drawing. the pins in the picture (not the drawing) are where I have them and have not changed them.

One more thing

Oh ya. I forgot to say, your picture didn't load for me. You might try again. It appeared to be a zip file, perhaps that is the problem. And you don't need to apologize for being a novice. We all learn a thing or two on this forum no matter how smart we THINK we are.

Thanks Jim!

Thanks for the information; I can't wait to get the Omega out just to play but have a long way to go. I would like more details about the person who repaired your boat as a hobby; maybe they have friends with similar interests in Oregon?

hi Jim...I noticed the picture of this mast footing and I was wondering if anyone new where I could get one. I recently got an omega 14 but the right side of the fitting is all torn up and it need to be replaced. Thanks for any advice you have.
