Nice camera work, I was able to zoom in real close w/out any distortion! You mentioned "mast foot" but it looks to me like the aft end of a boom!
I've seen corroded aluminum before and this seems like a serious case. It appears that corrosion has expanded and split the weakened material and possibly helped by falling and hitting the ground square on the end cap.
If it were mine I would certainly want an expert inspection done to determine the extent of the rot and whether restoration is possible!
I haven't seen base plates on 14.2's ( Omega 14's do ) and that one looks like it has been forced in ( looking at the bulge right above the cracks ) . I see surface corrosion above the hole , how does the rest of the mast look ?
Showing that much corrosion you have to think about your Stainless hardware too - especially those that apply to your speader and jib halyard . the screws can look fine but detiorate invisibly, the aluminum corrdes around the screws also causing loose screws with wallowed out holes .
The rest of the mast has corrosion arround the hardware and I've replaced most with rivets, but the base of the mast seems to have these stress cracks. The boat was in a marina with the mast up. I probably should look in to a repacement.
