Mast float plans

Off the Vagabond 14 site, I'll bet this has been posted before, but forgive me the repetition.

At the vagabondsailing site, under How To, the last entry is "Make a H-14 Mast Float". Looks very doable. Has anyone here actually done this, and did it work? We are many who have something on the mast, but no realworld stories that I've found.

I'm enjoying reading about the "personal improvements" that ya'll have made to your boats. My list grows constantly. Thanks, all!

Actually, in the C-14 manual you get after joining the association, there is a page about these types of floats which are supposedly offered for sale as an accessory by Catalina. It doesn't list the price but says the buoyancy is 17 pounds. Compare that to the Baby Bob which has about 30 pounds of lift and sells for a little over $100.

I have a lot of confidence in the Baby Bob but these sail sleeves might also work as well and look better doing it!

Hope this helps,
Jim
