Hello Folks.
New guy on the forum. New capri owner. Picked up the Capri 14.2 that was on Ebay last week. Have only had the boat out one time but super happy with it so far. I am a former catamaran sailor but old age ( read not a teenager anymore) has slowed me down a bit. Just looking to do allot of day sailing and the occasional overnighter in the 10K islands here in south Florida.
Questions!
My boat is the "Mod 2" It has the little fiberglass cubby under the fore deck with the cloth bag cover. Is it possible to pull this cubby out and replace the cloth bag with a watertight hatch? Giving me more storage room under the fore deck?
Thinking of building some sort of boom vang to support the boom when the main is stored. Either that or a line from the stern end of the boom to the mast head. Somewhat concerned about going the line route as the roach(?) of the sail protrudes beyond a straight line from the end of the boom to the mast head. Not sure how that will effect the main when tacking.Just looking to keep the boom up out of the cockpit while the main is not up. Either while motoring out the channel or even possibly a simple boom tent at anchor in the future. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thats all I got for now!
Thanks in advance
Brad
