Mast stolen! Now what?

Our Capri 14.2 is stored at a lot with other boats and rvs. I discovered today the mast was gone!! Unbelievable, the boom was there! Anyway, now I feel doomed. We are taking the boat to Huntington Lake near Fresno on July 20th. Anyone ever replaced a mast? Can they be obtained (quickly!) from the manufacturer in LA or even a dealer? Your advice welcome and needed! Thanks

New mast

Your best bet is to buy one from Catalina Yachts. Shipping is expensive, but you're in luck, you live in CA and can drive to the plant instead. (Woodland Hills, just NW of LA). Call them at 818-884-7700 and ask for Parts.

The sad outcome

For those who've looked at this post--a new mast is available from Catalina Yachts. It is around $550 fully rigged, but no way to get a new one before five or six weeks, essentially ruining our sailing trip to Huntington. Anyone in California have a mast they want to part with for a couple of weeks--if you're in Northern California I'll pick it up and provide a nice case of wine for the trouble. Thanks!

John, this sounds awfully naive, coming from a 62-year-old, but:

You might contact a dealer and ask if he/she has a demo boat or boat in stock from which you could borrow a mast, with the agreement that you would replace it with your new one when it arrives. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

The mast arrived!! Now what??!?

I was able to get Catalina to ship a new mast to me, picked it up today in a boat yard. The spreaders are not attached--taped to the mast. No bolts or other attaching hardware that I can see. On my old mast these seemed to be something like rivets, not screws. I can call parts department next Monday but time is getting tight and I'd love to deal with this over the weekend at West Marine. How are these attached and with what?

Thanks

It was rivets, d'oh.

There is a drawing of the rivets in the owners manual, no specs on them but I will figure that out.

Spreaders - Photo

Here's how mine is attached....The brackets are attached with stainless sheet metal screws. The spreaders are attached with clevis pins and ring dingies.
Sure glad you got your mast in time! :D

Screws in mast

Before putting stainless screws into the mast be sure to coat the threads with silicon "goop" to prevent corrosion between the steel screws and the alum. mast.
