What Bottom Paint For Laser?

I've got a lot of Interlux Brightside paint left over from a project and thought I'd paint the hull on my old Laser. Looking into it I'm starting to think not! Apparently there are better paints out there to use but I don't have any experience with any others. This boat sets on the trailer and sails from a sand beach so gets some abrasion on the hull. Do any readers have personal knowledge of a good finish to use? Thanks in advance.

I have used Interlux Performance Epoxy on J22's and am planning on using this for my Laser. You need to have it sanded with 200 then 400 then 600 and on to 800 grit sandpaper. It is a beautiful finish, but requires a lot of labor. Not sure if there are any issues with Class Rules, so I will check before painting.

wet and dry sandpaper really brings up the orgional colour and gets rid of small scratches too. Paint also adds a bit of weight if ur racing competetivly :p

I have successfully used Rustoleum's marine paint - I think I used the topside paint since the boat is trailered. Home Depot sells it. There is some info on the web about this paint. It really needs a hardener since it takes forever to dry. If you can't find any good info, let me know and I can be more specific.

interlux is ok for an old laser, you'll want to follow the prep instructions, I painted an old laser in rough shape with interlux brightside I had laying around, made the boat look a ton better, the paint lasts as long as you follow the directions, its a good alternative for an old boat if you don't have the time to restore it.
