New To Trailering

Hi,

This weekend will be my boat's maiden voyage (I have had some trailer issues). A little late I know, but I have fowl weather gear, and a steamer wetsuit that should get me to the end of October. My question is, I have 5' long trailer bunks. Do I need to attach the bow to a winch, or will strapping the boat around the trailer frame be enough to keep it from wobbling while going down the road? By wobbling, I mean up and down. Want to avoid disaster.

I tie my bow line so that the boats (I have a two boat rack) don't keep going forward in a hard stop. Hasn't happened yet, I'm happy to say.

I added a winch and a bow stop to my trailer just so it was easier to load the boat onto the trailer when done sailing for the day. It made it much more secure while trailering it as well. I also make sure to strap the boat to the frame not just the bunks.
