Pin The Tell Tail On The Sail

I have recently acquired a bag of new tell tales for my sail as the single solitary tell tail I have is starting to look a bit lonely up there.

So... to prevent my sail from resembling a shag pile carpet I would like to know what the common opinion is, on where is the best place to locate tell tails on the sail.

The current one is right in the belly of the sail about a 50cm up from the foot and 50cm up from the foot.

Most of the top guys seem to mark three corners of an imaginary triangle in the bottom half of the belly of the sail. This may work for them however may not for us lesser mortals.

They shouldn't be too close to the mast, or too far back

The way I find works best is to place 2 (on each side) above the window spread out by about 8-10 inches(verticle), the top one closer to the mast (about 1ft) and the lower one starting around where the upper one ends, then pace 1 (on each side) in between the mast an the top batten

IMHO I use Brendan Casey's tell tale placements...

In other words the three question marks around the bottom, and then two further up the sail around 30-50cm from the sleeve.
