I have run into a challenge with my newest lawn ornament. My Laser ZFSA16661M811 has separated around the deck. I need to take the deck off. Separating the cockpit drain area from the hull is the issue. It looks like the drain should be cut where it exits the hull. My 8 year old daughter is in love with it.

400s fine if you're painting over, 2 pack paint is completely sprayable although it does go off quick.

Hey there! I saw in one of the older threads that you painted your bottom. I have a late 70's that I am now wet sanding to refinish the bottom. I planned to fill all my deep scratches from the last owner with gel coat then wet sand, compound and polish. I'm also thinking about painting. What paint did you use? and do you have any pictures of how it turned out?

with the dedicated undercoat and thinners, it's really expensive initially but long term worth every penny.
If you do go this route I'd recommend getting a decent brush and a pack of 4 inch rollers.
I'd recommend using syringes for accurate measures mixing it up ( 3:1 ) and thin it out at 10 %.

And one of my family members does body work on cars, so he offered to spray them at his shop if I prepped them. So, I'm looking into some of the cheaper sprayable marine paints. But didn't have any specific brands / products in mind. I hear from some of the other forums, I would only have to fill scratches then wet sand up to like 400 grit if I'm painting.
