It's just different ways of rigging the controls. The boat, spars, sail and foils are all the same. All of them race against one another because theoretically all the fancier rigging changes is the ease of making adjustments, not the actual performance potential of the boat.

Originally I was planning on taking the Capri as it's more stable and the slightly smaller sail area works a bit better for my light weight. I've been getting a good amount of seat time in the laser lately though, and getting pretty comfortable with it, so now it's winning the debate. We'll see...

as much as it sucks, you might have to wait for the grindings to rust away to nothing, then deal with cleaning up the rust. Red hot metal filings have a tendency to melt into things really well and dont come out easily.
