Video: How To Get In Way Over Your Head... Literally

It's the guys with four or five milk jugs on the mast top I give a wide berth to. They do have strong bones, though.

    Aqua Finn: opinions

You do get the added bonus of being able to sing the song... Aquafinn my friend -- don't you start away uneasy you poor old sod, you see, it's only me.

I thought the same. But I guess with him cleating the main, it was a viable idea in his estimation.

Video: How To Get In Way Over Your Head... Literally

That's a harrowing video to watch. I prefer a heavy keel on The Bay. Like an IOD. My 'fish is for Bodega Bay up the coast a bit.

Why do you own more than one sunfish

I'm tempted to buy a second Sunfish just to get the accompanying trailer.

The ghost of old hull numbers

Interesting, the Craftsmen era projects reflected the same philosophy, they would often design in an intentional "flaw" in a project to convey that only God could create perfection. Fun to try and find them.

    Newly Acquired Sunfish

Not clear from the thread to date if your bow handle backing block is reasonably intact; if it is, you might consider my solution... I used EZ-Lok threaded inserts and new bolts all in stainless. They also have brass which are more affordable and perhaps more easily sourced. Search EZ-Lok on...

The ghost of old hull numbers

I'd give the bleach a try. May do it with little to no effort. (Looks like a sweet, vintage 911 is hiding behind your 'fish.)

I have one of these. Most useful for handing to people and seeing how many of the 20 "tools" they can find.

    Refinishing Super Sunfish

Roger that. I've buffed out a test patch and it doesn't seem slippery, but the real test of course will be on the water.

    Refinishing Super Sunfish

That's how I'm restoring my hull/deck, seems the 3M folks designed the product to not be slippery, YMMV.

    Cutting back the Tiller

"Cutting back the tiller" sounds like one of those old cliches of nautical origin... "Now that Jack is retired, he's sure cutting back the tiller." ;)
