Pull the dolly up to the swivel bow on the trailer at an angle, transfer the bow of the boat to the swivel bow on the trailer. pick up the stern of the boat and move it to the trailer. It might be heavy for you but that's the best way to do it. A second person on the stern is a big help even...
I gave up on those pads 10 years ago, they ride up and out of the pockets. The pads felt long to me and I'm 6 ft. I have not seen anyone use them at any regatta up in the northeast. I use SEA airprene 3/4 hiking pants all year long. On my second pair.
The parts are worth more than than what you are paying, so installing a port and a little fiberglass repair even if you pay an additional $200 for the repair seems worth it.
Looking for the best way to remove the broken screw from the bailer. Tried a screw remover, didn't work. Punch thru? i don't want to create a problem with leaking.
I haven't capsized my 16.5 yet but i did buy the flotation mainsail panel from Catalina direct. I'm confident it will keep the boat from turtling. Easy to install just slide it over your mainsail.
Same here, i carry a separate insurance policy $5,000 on my 2006 trailer and laser, it runs around $135.00 per year. A new laser at $8,500 plus trailer $1,200 and your approaching $10,000 plus sales tax. So if anything happens, i'm halfway there.
