Hey everyone,
stop me if this has been posted before...
I got my fish for free over the summer. After a little polishing and replacing some lines, she sails beautifully. She's at my best guess from the 70s, no aft storage compartment, with a shadow daggerboard (i know....get rid of it)...
Great! Thanks! I haven't weighed my boat yet but my guess is that it's waterlogged because it feels pretty heavy. It cracked the roof rack on my ford explorer. Luckily i have a trailer for it now.
havent tried sailing in the winter. I dont think i have the wardrobe yet. I don't race. I just enjoy the sailing.
I'm going to restore the hull of my boat over the winter. the previous owner painted the bottom with blue paint to match the hull. I'm going to sand it down and paint it with...
I have the same...a '68-'71 (best guess), without the Cubby. I'm going to install the hiking strap during the winter when I can bear to have my Fish dry for a while.
Thanks everyone....i ended up sticking my toes under the cockpit lip but....after the amazing day of sailing I had....i'm going to install the hiking strap :-)
I havent installed a hiking strap yet on my boat due to time restraints. Are there any ideas for a jerryrigged hiking strap setup? I'm going out in the fish today and i wold lve to hike out.

I just had the same problem with my rudder. I gave it a coat of fiberglass and a 2nd coat of resin and now it works fine! Just make sure you on't cover where the aluminum plates go. They won't fit if you do

That sounds like good advice until I can install the strap! Yay! I can Hike now! :D
I did join the yahoo group, but everytime I click on a file it redirects back to the original page and Safari (my web browser...i have a mac :) ) gives me an error message
Thanks Supercub,
I've been trying the yahoo site but, the files don't seem to be working. I keep getting a redirect error. Maybe it's just my computer. Thanks for the tips!

Hi everyone-
My name is Dean, i'm out of West Haven, CT. I just got a AMF Alcort Sunfish from a friend of a friend for free. :) As you well know, nothing is absolutely free. The boat needs very little work. There's a cracked rudder and just some general maitenence that needs to be done...
