    Delaminated Deck and Hull...

The soft hull issues that I have seen are typically the result of improper trailering and storage. Lasers should be transported suspended from their gunnels (style like the trailex trailers), or deck down. When the hull is trailered deck up, and then cinched down on an improper trailer, and...

    Delaminated Deck and Hull...

I buy and fix a lot of Lasers used for teaching kids to sail during the summer. The structural conditions you have described are fatal, and you'll spend lots of time and effort attempting to make the hull usable, and it will still fail. The sail, spars, boom, rudder, rudderhead, tiller and...

Strange Sunfish? Need information / Comments

Hi Folks - I purchased a used Sunfish and its a little unusual - it has a factory medium-blue hull and a light gray deck and cockpit. Its older (meaning it has the aluminum edging), and the hull number is really strange - its A1W18641F787. So I don't have a clue who built it, or when as...

    Homemade Trailer Racks

I had a similar need - transporting/storing both a Sunfish and Laser. My trailer is set up to carry the Sunfish deck down, and I wanted to fly the Laser above it, suspended from the gunwales like the trailex and kitty hawk trailers. The metal frame at the back of the trailer is 50" wide...

    Storing A Laser

At a minimum, you should flip the boat upside down so it is resting on the deck and not the hull for the year it will be sitting. In some ways, it might be better to take it off the trailer, and lean it up against the wall on its side, so the weight will all be on the gunnel.

    Storage

Here's a $30 solution that works like a charm. It involves 60-100' of 3/8" line (depending on the height of your ceiling, two self-locking pulleys (Wal-Mart, Home Depot and Lowes carry these for about $10.50 ea with a 250 lb rating), 4 good sized eyebolts, and 2 pieces of foam pipe insulation...

    Sunfish Lettering and Logo (NEW)

I've attached files of the Sunfish logo and lettering that is placed on the sides of boat. If you need to replace what is on your boat, you can take these files to places with signmaking equipment who can cut you out a new set of adhesive vinyl. I've taken these files to a place near me, and for...

    Sunfish lettering and logo

Just got a Sunfish for my daughter and am doing some restoration. The "Sunfish" lettering on the sides needs to be replaced. I've got a local place that can laser cut vinyl for this kind of thing - but I was wondering if anyone knows what font the lettering is, or does anyone have a logo file...
