Before you chuck it (following unsuccessful attempts to get it straight) you may consider taking it to a machine shop fix it person. I had a badly bent upper and a guy in our town got it perfectly straight for 15 bucks.

I am in the process of tweaking our sailing instructions for this year's racing, and I and wondering what some other clubs are doing in regard to throw outs. We currently have a 20% rule, which means that one out of every 5 races can be tossed.

You could roll up the sail on the mast, take out the battens and put a full length cover on it. I saw them on the Larsen Canvas Site.. I think you are looking at total time about 30 seconds. Be sure the batten tips are firmly glued on to the battens.. Otherwise it will take much much...
How about gel coating your logo on the bottom. That way when he capsizes a huge West Coast Sailing logo will be visible to the TV station helicopters circling above!:)
