Re: Seperating Hull and Deck
I used a dremel to separate the deck and hull on my L2. I found it easiest to use a cut-off wheel and then gently pry the hull apart for a flat screwdriver. If you work it slowly and cut the filler about 1/2" deep it seemed to split pretty easily. I've attached a...
Bruce,
I had a similar issue on an L2 and my Laser. On the L2, I had water ingress from a quarter sized nick around the daggerboard slot and a few cracks around the gunwales. I'm taking an agressive approach to fix the damage caused by this water. It was a club boat so it's been abused by kids...
That's sail #781 but the hull doesn't match the sail. The hull number is in the 48000's. A friend of mine lent/gave me hull #4190 and the original matching sail but the mast step is... not in the best shape. That's my next project.
I just got in from my first sail in a Laser!
I've only been in 4 dingys in my life and one of those times I think I spent more time in the water (all inclusive resort in the Dominican). Last summer my girlfriend tried to teach me to sail a 420. We went out three times over the course of that...
I also heard that the 2009 Worlds and 2008 Canadians would be hosted by SMSC. I crew on a keelboat in the SMSC summer/fall series and heard that preparations are being made for the events. "The Bay" is a beautiful place to sail and it's only 40min from my place in Lunenburg county.
Has anyone shipped a laser mast? I'm looking at buying a used mast for a laser 2 but I'll need to have it shipped from Arizona to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Matt
This boat was listed locally for sale as a Laser 2 but it doesn't look like any of the laser 2's that I've seen. Can anyone tell me what it is?
Thanks,
Matt
