what's a fair price to ask....

M is like a novelty rig to have, its slow and inefficient because there is no mast bend and it requires a separate piece to fit at the top. I'd offer $50 at most, depending on condition. Nobody even races them either.

Best way to put on sail numbers?

http://lasersailing.ch/newpage/E-Teilzeichnungen/Laser-Sail-Nos.pdf This saved me, also just take your time with it. What I do with a complex number is that I peel the backing just a tad, then stick the exposed part on the area of the sail you want it, then one hand on the backing and the other...

    Lasers at night

I duct tape a flashlight on my mast so that the light goes on the sail as well, as well as a head lamp and a glow stick or two on top of the mast.

Is this a legal set up for a laser outhaul?

Looks to be legal, but I would change it if you were going to sail in a major regatta, in my experience measurers will select you boat to measure just because it looks different and that could cause problems depending on how the measurer interprets the rules.

Sombody's aiming a green laser inside my house

Eh, maybe might be able to skip on the mast step repair if you are on a budget, just put some 5300 on it and should be good to go.

From Sunfish to Laser..Or Sunfish to 420

I made the Sunfish to Laser transition couple years back and it was a big one! At least here Lasers are so much popular and much more competitive. Racing is much more intense, many different people, not the 'same faces' all of the time which can be good or bad. The only thing about Lasers I've...

Advice on finding and harnessing the wind at various points of sail

A quick tip from me is that when your sheeting in, you need to pay attention to your rudder, as you sheet in apply more rudder towards leeward. The reason being is that if you don't your boat will continue to head more windward and place you in the irons (thus a lost of wind and valuable speed)...

    Legal Roll Tacks?

Woah thats a interesting tack... I kinda admire his form, he seems to take full advantage of getting he mast as low as he can. I doesn't look to be illegal to my eye as he does not get any significant boost easily seen.

Starburst one only one side of the sail?

From what I've been told, the older sails only have it on one side, in my case mine does on port side as well. As far as the different cut I don't think it has changed, the material may have, but I don't think it has or this class would be like the Sunfish class with two different cuts (Race and...

    Life of a Laser

All depends on care! The better you care for it the longer it lasts. My boat is hitting 22 years old now and still can stay with the fleet no problem!

Not exactly, when you start to talk about wether your "good" will mean you will win is where you start entering the grey area of it. It usually gives advantage but even when your good there is always going to be people who are "better" and even lighter weight can't help you in all situations.
