    Tiller Length for Leisure Sailing

Just got a conversion kit to change my rudder over and planning to tackle that this weekend...however in the meantime the new tiller with extension seems awfully long for leisure sailing (no hiking allowed)...any ideas on good, clean ways to shorten it and/or the extension? I seemed to recall...

    Rudder Conversion Help and Kits?

It seems that the instructions tell me to mount the plate inside and then drill from the outside...why can't i drill from the inside using the plate as a template? I'm afraid that i won't be able to hit the holes in the plate from the outside....or am i reading them wrong?

    Rudder Conversion Help and Kits?

Need to convert my old style rudder assembly to the newer style. Have friends enlisted for help. Now I need a couple of good websites that show the ins and outs of this work...any ideas (other than Winline, i've got them on the list)? How about somewhere that sells a conversion kit that includes...

    Mac at Southeast ?? Sails

Just from another viewpoint...that Mac guy quoted me a 'special color combonation' sail at his usual price. Three weeks went by and I still didn't have my sail so I called him. He identified me by caller id i suppose and then proceeded to tell me that he couldn't get the color that I had asked...

How/Were to buy a new racing sail

I wouldn't buy a Sunfish Bible unless I knew alot about sailing and was intending to race - most of it is written in the secret sailors language and the authors are caught up in complicated methods to 'go faster'. I'll sell you my copy for a good price if you want it but I would suggest that...

    1960's Rudder Pin HELP

I got several stainless ones last year from McMaster Carr catalog. They have the spring ball in one end and a ring to attach to the chain on the other. Works great and is much less than $33. If you don't want to buy one there I would be glad to sell you one of mine for a reasonable price. Let me...

    Homemade daggerboard options

Noodles: I'll buy it at a 'reasonable' price (whatever that might be...) and as I'm unsanctioned it won't matter to me if it's a little longer as posted below... Thanks

    Storage "Sawhorses"

"I only have access to my backyard" = no garage or basement.

    Storage "Sawhorses"

I know that a heated garage would be the best place but I don't have access to anything but my back yard for storing over the winter....I was thinking that I could build some sawhorse contraptions that I could put my boat on upside down - does anyone here have an idea of the scale and/or perhaps...

    Rentals in Mission Bay (SanDiego)?

Will be spending a week at Mission Bay in SanDiego and am looking for a place that will rent small (Sunfish 'like') boats for use on Mission Bay...does anyone know of a place near Mission Bay? (The only ones I saw online were closed to only University students or hotel guests). Thanks

    Bottom Strip and refinish?

I used a one-part paint called "Brightside" made by a company called Interlux. It's not necessarily intended for 'below the waterline' but the consensus was that for occassional use it would be fine. It went on real easy (follow their instructions on the yachtpaint.com website) and while it does...

    Connecting to Upper Boom

I apologize if I don't have all the terminology correct but I would like to know several opinions about alternate methods to connect the rope that holds the upper boom up to the top of the mast. The books say use a clove hitch but mine came loose yesterday and the sail, boom and all dropped into...
