Class Politics All about to kick off....

I doubt they would make more...the market is too diverse, most of the people who would buy new boats are doing so... BUT it would get mote people out on the water playing the game...at that is more important than anything else!

    Laser Downwind - High Wind

I sit crouched on the balls of my feet, sheet in hand. Makes it easy to move your weight around the boat to counteract rolls. Sailing by the lee and reaching really is the best option but if you absolutely have to sail downwind I find the best thing to do is sail with the sail sheeted in further...

Wow. Imagine how many more people would be sailing if they remained that price....that's less than most second hand boats go for.

I'd hold off though, wait to see how it pans out. You never know, the torch could well work out to be cheaper than the current "Lasers"

    Delaminated Deck and Hull...

Mast step isn't a bad fix... I know plenty who have done it. Fixing a soft hull and deck, not so much. You'll end up adding so much weight it won't be competitive

    Fitness For Laser Sailing

Class Politics All about to kick off....

I support Kirby in this. Yes this is annoying as hell, and there'll be a delay before any new boats are built, but that only will affect the 1% who want new boats....the same 1% the upper echelons of ILCA seem only to listen to. Hopefully this will lead to a cheaper, better product for us...

    Mainsheet Blocks

By any chance would the reason the new harken blocks are percieved more reliable be because of the fact they're new?

    Laser Blogs

I've been reading propercourse for ages now, love it. Just wondering are there any other good laser-sailing blogs around? I also have my own fairly pathetic effort: kevinlikesstuff.wordpress.com Really enjoy reading sailing blogs, so any other laserish ones people know of would be great...

    CARBON TILLERS

I use a rooster Carbon tiller that I think could have been the original on the boat in 2003. No complaints at all it has performed brilliantly ever since I got it. One small thing though is to make sure there's enough insulating tape on the wear plate, as I nearly lost mine one day when the...

    Advice

I think a Laser would be the best of both worlds, I can't really say what size rig you want, as that depends mostly on your height/weight/fitness etc....
