Charter wanted for U.S. Youth Sailing Championships

I have posted this in the Wanted section as well, but just wanted to be sure that as many people as possible saw it. Thank you. Hello, I am looking for a boat to charter for the U.S. Youth Sailing Championships that is taking place from August 12th to 16th at Corpus Christi Yacht Club...

    mast strength

Also to answer your question, I've often though about trying to create a trapeze laser. The only solution I have come up with would be to have the trapeze points be at the top of the lower mast section, as the lower section is quite strong so I think it could handle the strain. The mast step...

    Bad day on the water...

Thank you all for the advice and support. A friend of mine works in the boat building industry and has much experience dealing with this kind of stuff, and I will show him these posts and that video to see if they offer him anything new. He has offered to help me repair the boat, and we will...

    Bad day on the water...

Very interesting video, could definitely be applied to my damage. Unfortunately, no insurance, so that is not really an option. Still trying to figure out a plan, but in the meantime also trying to get out on the water. Thanks for the ideas and responses.

    Bad day on the water...

I am located in Connecticut, Indian Harbor Yacht Club to be more specific (quite near you by the looks of it). I'll probably end up looking for another hull, and either keep this one for an eventual project, or sell it dirt cheap to someone who would like to do the repair and have it as a...

    Bad day on the water...

Unfortunately the other day while racing in about 15-20 knots of breeze, I was involved in an incident at a windward mark rounding. Essentially I was sandwiched between a 420 and a laser bow, and as both are harder than the hull of my laser, serious damage resulted (see image). Any...

    Red and blue telltales

It doesn't really matter which side, as long as you put the same color on the same side. The blue is supposed to be easier to see through the sail then the usual green, as there is usually green and red for starboard and port, respectively. The main reason for different colored telltales is so...

    Mast Bump...

my 2011 hull did not have the bump when I first got it, but it appeared after a few times sailing, once in heavy air. LP needs to get their act together.

    Cleaning/drying inside of hull

great thank you, that was exactly what I was looking for. Luckily, my next regatta is BBR, so it will have 2 weeks to dry. Thanks!

    Cleaning/drying inside of hull

Thanks for the replies guys. I managed to clean the salt out of the hull with a hose, but I was wondering if the fiberglass on the inside of the hull will absorb any water or will water just sit there to be drained out. If it does absorb water, how much? Thanks.

    Cleaning/drying inside of hull

Today I made the unfortunate mistake of forgetting to put my stern plug in before I went sailing. After sailing for a while and noticing how slow I was, I finally realized my mistake. Does anyone have anytime for cleaning out the salt and then drying the inside of the hull? (it is a relatively...

    Advice for newbie

Sounds like a good boat to me. Everything seems complete and in good condition. If your not racing, then the gelcoat scratching doesn't matter, and if you are, the repairs are relatively easy and can be completed at your leisure. The play in the mast step is perfectly normal, every boat has...
