PVC pipe for sail and spars storage

Hi Kevin, It's got to be the 8", because I made a 6" tube out of vinyl flooring (cheap on sale) and it has to distort to cover the gooseneck. (I strap my tube to the deck, supported by three sections of one of those really fat pool noodles.) Hope that helps. --Catya (Disclaimer: I'm...

Anyone here sail a 'fish near the Siesta Key FL? (Cross posted)

Hi, ( I just posted this message on the Sunfish_Sailor site, but I know some of you don't hang there, so I wanted to post it here too. ) In January, I'll be going to visit my grandmother in Sarasota and will meet uo with my brother there (he sails 26' Islander out of the SF Bay). He knows...

    Best trailer?

They don't come in contact with the boat, bunk-wise. The pool noodles are wrapped in sill seal foam and covered with indoor-outdoor carpet. I did pull my tie downs through pool noodles, So I can tell you whether that has any effect on the deck after a while, but there's not much friction in that...

    Best trailer?

It's not trivial, but making Supercub style scribed bunks isn't is bad as you'd think. I haven't done any carpentry for aobut 25 years and had to buy a $34 jig saw (the kind with the adjustable shoe angle), but they work great (and look cute, too). On the Sunfish_Sailor site, John Howard...

    Thank you

To avoid cross posting, I've been hanging out on the Sunfish_Sailer board, but I wanted to come back here to post a thank you for all of you who have helped me with the extended process of trying to get my "free" goldfish in the water. Today, we took our maiden voyage together and I couldn't be...

Hi, You might also want to search at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sunfish_sailor/ At least you could look at the Files section for "Inside a sunfish" and examine the pictures, maststep1 & maststep2. Sympathetically, --Catya (a fellow neophyte) ________ CL70

Could you use slinga on a trailer?

Hi Supercub, I hope I'm not being too much of a pest--especially what with forgetting that you posted those photos and all. I only found one the first time, but a search got me your other 3 pictures. That clarified the contours questions. What I couldn't quite see was whether the bunks...

Could you use slinga on a trailer?

Oh THAT's where that picture went. I couldn't remember whose picture it was and when I looked in the photos section, it wasn't there. THanks for the reminder. Can you tell me how you've attacted the bunks to the ^ at the front part of the trailer? THere's a little orange in the photo where I'm...

Could you use slinga on a trailer?

Somone on the dolly thread just linked to a parts list that has replacement slings for dollies. I'll be getting a hitch on my car tomorrow which means I can bring home the trailer I bought and will have to then make cradles before I try to take out my boat. My question, as you've gathered, is...
