    CPYC Frostbiting

I'm hoping to do the Cedar Point YC frostbiting series but as of yet I don't own/have a laser. Anyone interested in chartering/renting there boat for the season? I'm also looking into possibly purchasing one should a good deal come available.

    Bad Laser days...

Glad to hear everything is OK. I finally told myself after a couple bad experiences that I need to know when to call it. We had our last day of frostbite sailing two Sunday's ago. Air temperature was in the low 30 F water temps were in the low 40 F and the wind was blowing 22 gusting to 35...

What to wear under hiking pants -- cool day.

Thanks for the tips. The rooster products look like they are a heck of a good deal and seem to be right on the money. The race skin is what I was thinking about. Thanks.

What to wear under hiking pants -- cool day.

Thanks for the info. I have been hesitant to switch to Zhik as everything is sooo expensive. I guess you get what you pay for!

What to wear under hiking pants -- cool day.

Just to clarify, by cool, I was thinking 50-60 degree days in the Fall/Winter with water temps in the 50's and, Yes, I have the airprene hiking pants. I found some SEA Metalite pants that say they are .5mm neoprene like material that might be an option? Anyone have these?

I found some SEA lycra pants that seem thin and flexible, would something like that work? http://www.westcoastsailing.net/osCommerce/catalog/-p-210.html?osCsid=e4b696fa1ff0838afbc21441ddb49fdd

What to wear under hiking pants -- cool day.

I have a pair of the SEA 3/4 hikers and I often see people wearing something under their hiking pants. Is it a wetsuit? Or something lighter? I'm looking for something to possible wear under my 3/4 hikers since my wetsuit doesn't have hiking battens.

Lake Norman Sailing - North Carolina

Come on down to Lake Lanier Sailing Club (www.llsc.com) March 7-9 for the Laser Southerns Regatta. Should have over 30 boats on the line, it is the last regatta of the frostbite season. Should be fun!

Laser for beginners.. is it easy?

I've never found laser sailing to be easy in anything above 10 knots. Give me 20 and....well.....lets just say sexymommy has it right.

    Hiking Pants/Shorts recomendation

I just got some SAE 3/4 Hiking Pants with the shoulder straps and love them. I was out in big breeze couple weeks ago and the held up fine. Did notice them sagging a bit after some good time out, but i think it was because I hadn't adjusted the straps.

Too light for a Full Rig??

Howard, Thanks for the thoughts! I have ALOT of learning to do, but I think it'll pay off in the end. I'm not looking to compete at the Olympic level, I just want to be able to race competitively in all wind conditions and be able to compete in regattas without hesitantly looking at wind...

Too light for a Full Rig??

Thanks for the info here. Per the advice here I'm gonna stick with the Full rig on the light to moderate days and then sail Radial on the days when it is breezy. Hopefully I can built the skills and then be able to handle the Full on breezy days. Like I said, I'm still very new to the laser...

Too light for a Full Rig??

I am 5' 10" The DVD's sound good, I'll check those out. I'd like to be competitive in the sense that I can go out in a breeze and be able to sail with the fleet. As it is now I can make it around the course without issues when it is breezy. I stayed out yesterday for a couple of hours and...
