Radial Girl by Dayton Colie

I apologize for posting the link to my music on your website. The lyrics of Radial Girl are offensive to one of your administrators, and she removed them (twice). This administrator emailed me and wrote "The words of Radial girl are unfriendly to women." I will not post the link to my myspace music site on here again. I never meant for them to be offensive to women. The song is a celebration of her skill on the racecourse. I'll confess, it was written in honor of a beatiful girl who sailed Lasers from my past, and she was really, really good. You are all for the most part grown ups, so I'm inviting you to make your own opinions. I like the Laser, the class is the benchmark of skill, and for the most part y'all are good people.

I'm going to sign this with my real name, not my handle, so for the sake of some family members I need to make somehting very clear: I am in no way affiliated with Colie sails. I am related to them. I've bought stuff from them. I don't even know what they look like. I met them once when I was five at my grandfathers funeral, and I follow their racing exploits on line, but I have nothing to do with their store. Please do not hold my actions against them.

My apologies
Dayton Colie

Re: I apologize....

Very strong apology dude. I'm sure your initial post was ment in the right spirit, but often any sense of humor around here can get lost very quickly. Welcome to the forum.

If he's singing about a girl that he admires, he has a heavy sense of irony. The boat is returned all scratched and messed up and he demands to know when she's going to pay to fix it. He asks if she is a man or woman. He says the next time he sees her, he will beat her black and blue.

Hard for me to form an opinion against it. I never saw it.

I do feel he has apologized quite well.

Gonna take a moment to defend myself:

The song you are referring to is called Bad Key West Boat Delivery. You did not listen to Radial Girl. Please check the title when you listen to my music so you know which song you are listening to. Radial Girl has nothing to do with a scratched boat. Go back, listen to the right song, and then talk about it.

I clicked on the link and that's where it took me to. Set it up right and it may end the problem. It said Radial girl when I was playing it. If you want to create another thread with Radial Girl appearing when you click the link, I'll give it a fair try. If something else appears when the link is clicked, you can't expect us to search around for the right thing, especially when it still says Radial Girl.

Radial Girl (third times a charm?)

I've been invited to repost the link for y'all to check out. I have set my music page up so Radial Girl comes on when you open the page so as to avoid any confusion about which song it is. Feel free to check out the other music as well, as it all pertains to sailing. Thanks for the support, and hope you guys get a chance to listen to the music. Some of you inspired it.

Re: Radial Girl (third times a charm?)

Dayton, I'm sorry. The song Radial Girl really is fine, but when I checked it out just now, I saw that it's for sale. You have to pay to advertise at The Laser Forum. Please contact Bradley Green at [email protected] to arrange that.

the link to your site

www.howlingwilderness.com

in your signature, all over this forum, also presents material for sale. Perhaps you should advertise as well or at least remove the link to be fair. The link to your book's site is much more blatantly for sale than my Radial Girl song.

btw, I dig african masks and have book marked your link so I can look at it when it's removed from the site as well.

Dayton, please stay calm. First of all, I believe that Bradley would consider the work that I do on this forum a fair exchange for some advertising for my work. Second of all, anyone is welcome to place their website in their signature. You just can't have a thread advertising it.

Seems like Dayton is a stand up guy. I hope to meet him on the course sometime.

Bring an accoustic guitar so the fleet doesn't get fried.
