Don't forget being a USSailing official....

Or thinking Laser Masters aren't all that old

Well, that doesn't sound too silly... which I thought was the point of this thread...

But my quick research discovered that age divisions were scored within the fleet as follows: Apprentice Masters (35-44), Masters (45-54), Grand Masters (55-64), and Great Grand Masters (65+); plus women's categories. I would be in the Masters catagory based on age.

And now for something completely different...

We just celebrated LABOR DAY and if raising children was going to be easy, it never would have started with something called labor!

Brain cells come and brain cells go, but fat cells live forever.

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway...

When you divide distance a pumpkin rolls in one revolution by teh height of it as it lies there....

You get....

so...

Wouldn't it be great if we could have a "rumble strip" around the perimeter of the racecourse? There sould be a bunch of short choppy waves all along the weather side of the layline so we who take too many flyers could know when we have completely banged the corner.

Attn technical committee?? Have you a plan??

LU sent me a wonderful laser model sailboat to buoild. It is sitting in my office and everyonbe who comes in asks "Where did you get that?"

I reply. A crazy guy from across the ocean sent it tto me. Crazy in a good way. Lu is truly wonderul.

Thanks LU!!!!

Gouv (& Merrily), your next Laser 1:18 from the out-of-the-box-small-boatbuilder did arrive here :)
Time for me, to get the Quingdao-videos prepared for Merrily ...
And no, it is not me at the photo below. It's a photo of a Laserite of Lake Constance, that another friend did post to me. I'm not sure about this Laserite you see at that photo, probably he secretly did use the Rooster 8.1 one time to much ...... but I'm 150% sure, LaserPerformance and several "Laser-direct"-store owners do like those photos, in a special way of view ...

Cheers
Lu

I have been working on a speed restriction device for lasers. Lots of Mothers have expressed concerns about their children sailing too fast and hitting things. I have discovered that the pastel colored ones are more likely to blend in with the boat and , as the kids are not embarrased by their presence, the pastel ones are easier to sell.

My pitch??

Mine is the governor pale in color. YOur kid's boats won't go bam ma.

Hey.. Don't be biden your time about laughing at my joke!!!

Print this out and read it on the John

Oh my darlin', oh my darlin', oh my darlin', Clementine.
She is lost and gone forever, oh my darlin', Clementine.

OK, don't know where that came from, but it is silly.

Hey, Clementine would be a great name for a Laser, don't ya' think?

Or how about Susanna, with a banjo on your knee?

Maynard G. Krebs?

Okey, dokey?

Sinfully delicious?

How about painting upside down on your centerboard? If you can read this, I'm losing.

Lu, you have your own town? :D I'd like to see if there's any contests at Janetsburg. Are there any Janet Towns, Villes, Cities out there?

Isn't it "pumpkin"-season?
some couple of days before, we had the famous "big pumpkin paddle-contest" at Ludwigsburg in the near of Stuttgart.
-> http://www.juckerfarmart.de/fotogalerie/2008_kuerbisregatta_neu/_DSC3625.php
That brings me to the idea to put a Laser 4.7er Rigg onto such a selfmade/full-salvageable "hull"...
Did anyone tried it or is there perhaps already a "big-pumpkin Laser race" somewhere ... ;)

Janet, I have my own Harbor... :) ("Ludwigshafen" at Lake Constance)

For "Janet" I found a small village at France, at the lovely area South Provence, in the northwest of Aix-en-Provence (I have been there at Aix, its really pittoresk there) between the small towns Lambesc, Rognes.
Interesting there is. Not far away, at "Les-Baux-en-Provence", the "Bauxit" was found 1st time. Bauxit is the stuff, Aluminium (such as we use for our Laser masts) has been got out 1st time....
I don't know, if they have pumpkins at "Janet", but probably a good red wine....

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Laser sailboat,
My friends all sail Lidos, please don't make a joke,
Worked hard all my lifetime, have a heart full of hope,
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a Laser sailboat?

That's it!

Terribly confused I am - sailors her? I am new to the Lasers, my best freind just gifted me an ancient one that has been in his family for year. I have been sailing all my life, but big, slow boats. Hoping I am in for a wicked fun new experience - one problem tho... no sail. I am presently refurbing boat for next season ( if the term 'wicked' didn't clew you in, am from the Northeast).
Where can you get the cheapest used sails?

BTW - I know the Pink Bunny well - she was watching my beer for me - I swear she didn't touch a drop!

VOTE TODAY

sorry...I know.. that's not silly...and borders on p-olitical...but I am not advoating for either side...

Just go pull a lever or ten.

Vote early...Vote often

Vote early...Vote often

That would be illegal, but of course, you were being silly.

I live less than half a block from my polling place so I crawled out of bed at 6:15 to be at the head of the line. Ha! There were 50 people waiting for the polls to open. I went back to bed, and then voted at 10 a.m., with a 5 minute wait. There's a lot of enthusiasm for this one.

Re: Laser Winter Project

How come you hang the coal shovel with the blade down and the rakes are hung with the business ends up??

and

are Rosemary and Michael still and item?? or did Tim take over in 2000?

and

That's a pretty nasty looking thunderhead. Did it eventually rain??

Is he absolutely silly or is he just very clever? ... I am undecided, but
meanwhile many of sailing spectator's, onshore, view to the actual running Volvo Ocean Race 2008 or the actual running Vendee Globe Challenge 2008,
last weekend a young fearless Sailor, age 16, from UK did start off for going into a big singlehanded sailing adventure on his open 50 racer.

Mike has my full attention, not those Vendee or Volvo Pro's...

Re: maffioli or rooster mainsheet?

The line I use is much betteer than the stuff some other folks use. That's why I always win

Of course I find the Rooster mainsheet to be harder on both the hands and the wallet and it loses its tangle free properties in a couple weeks of hard use.

It's that time of year to dig out my favorite holiday wish for everyone again.
