inflatable NAVIGATOR II 400

Dear All,
I recently bought an inflatable NAVIGATOR II 400 boat. I want to build my serf an appropriate rigging system (laser or sunfish). I have no idea about dimensions and appropriate angles, and plans.
I would be much obliged if someone can help me.
- Which sail is most appropriate for such boat?
- What are the sises (dimensions) for mast and spars (poles)
- Which is the most appropriate sail surface? (in square foot or in square meter)
My email addresses are:

Thank you for your kind support

Sunfish style mast would need a support for a vertical mast 2 inch dia. Not hard to arrange.

Being an inflatable you'd probably have to rig a side mount swing keel (maybe one each side) because punching a hole in the bottom probably isn't a good plan.

I'd have to look up your inflatable boat's size but you may or may not be able to deal with the sail area of the Sunfish. The Minifish sail, which uses the same dia mast but shorter booms and appx 60% the sail area might be more appropriate.

Of course you could just buy the sail kit for your boat... which is very similar to the Sunfish/Minifish rigging with side swing keel as I described above.

(Note.. I looked at the kit. Its got a smaller sail than the Minifish...)

Dear Sir,
I kindly thank you for your support. Yes it is right this is the kind on sail rigging I want to build. It seems lower boom and upper boom are 3 m long and the mast is not longer than 2,5m. I have made some plans for this sail. I shall try to upload them here.

Dan, Just an FYI, there is a private message feature in this forum so you do not need to post your email address. That is a great way to get on spam lists, not because the forum is bad or anything but just because there are a lot of people that troll for information like email addresses in places like this. Just be careful posting your email address where anyone can get it (muchless all your email addresses). Use the tools the forum has provided to us.
Thanks SailingForums.com for the private message option btw.

Dear All,
I made a drawing for my idea regarding something like sunfish sail. I kindly ask you for suggestions and remarks.
Thank you all for your kind support

Generally its best to just copy (or buy) something already proven to be right...

You can get away with the sail being a bit off in dimensions and placement... It might call for shifting the side board(s) though.

You kind of want the boat to want to point its nose into the wind if the main sheet is slack with daggerboard down and the rudder free to be moved by the water. Then if you fall off the boat will not blow away as fast as if the thing tends to turn to go with the wind.

Change sail shape, mast location or the side board size/location and it might just be really good at going with the wind on its own... You could be in for a long swim.
