Based on the images provided(especially the one with the model and serial stamp) can anybody help me out with details on this boat? I don't see the stowage area up front and it looks as though the seating area goes all the way to the bow. Is this even a catalina 14.2 boat? Do you think the price is acceptable?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am about a 4 hour drive away from this boat so I am trying to decide for sure if I want to go after it or not.

The pictures are of a Capri Omega 14 exactly like mine only newer. I have hull #1261 which is a 1978 model. The storage area is there, but hard to see. There needs to be a mast support for the rear of the mast before transporting any distance. The rear of the mast should NOT!! be sitting inside the stern. Shock cords and foam rubber on top of the transom is how i brought mine home. I drove 750 miles each way in a snow storm half the time. Really wanted this boat. The Omegas are not selling for much over $1400. right now. The 14.2's can bring that price and a lot more for newer ones. See if the hull has been buffed, extra sails with her, paddles, life vests, or a trolling motor. Many things can bring the price up. Sailing Texas.com will give you lots more pricing. This boat will give you your moneys worth when sailing. Also, my take on craigs list is things sell for less than market value. Charley

Thank you for your timely response and insight Charley. I talked with the owner today and I think we have settled on a fair price. I have plans to go pick the boat up this Saturday. I will bring extra straps and foam to be sure that I can secure the mast in a way that will not cause any damage. It turns out that it isonly a 209 mile trip for me, so not quite as far as I had originally figured. I am very excited to go see the boat in person and I really hope all is well so I can bring her home.
